Coding with Kodable

Last week we learned about coding and what computer programmers do. I asked the students the question, "Who is smarter? A person or a computer?" Almost everyone thought that computers are smarter than us. We learned that people are actually much smarter than computers! In fact, computers can’t do anything without the people who are telling them what to do. The people who tell computers what to do are called programmers. A programmer is a person that writes the code (language) that tells the computer what to do. We also learned that code is the language that programmers use and create to tell computers what to do.

To learn how to code, we are using the app Kodable, a fun app that teaches kids how to program using code.

On Monday, a blue paper with a Kodable login was sent home. If you download Kodable at home on a computer, smart phone or tablet, you can input the code and your child can continue coding at home!

Please let me know if you have any trouble logging in. Thanks for reading!
